DESCRIPTION

This game was made in a small team of three, where I was one of the level designers. The game was made in UE4, using assets from the market place, with custom assets. It is a walking simulator, in a horror setting. The game follows a dark secret within the history of the players family. you must explore the mansion and destroy the monster that creeps in the basement.

 DESIGN PROCESS

Ignorance is Bliss was a game made in a group of 3, within unreal engine 4, with the goal to show off the game at PAX AUS 2020, however due to the pandemic, we were unable to demo it. IIB is a first person horror game, the project was tasked using unreal engine marketplace assets to create the game, with inclusion of custom assets and the theme of the project was a walking simulator, where the player was not allowed to attack nor take damage or be killed. I was one of the level designers, tasked with creating the first floor of the game, whilst the other members of the team handled environment, AI and other levels. 

I was tasked with creating the 1st floor of the house, where the player would explore and find the key to the basement, to encounter the monster. At the early stages of the the game, there wasn't a reason for players to go upstairs, so I communicated with my team, and had the main objective in the 1st floor, to give a reason for the player to explore the mansion. Which then lead the player into the basement, with the objective of running away from the monster.
